West Bengal Postal Circle Recruitment 2020: West Bengal Post Office circle has published Gramin Dak Sevaks(GDS) Recruitment Notification for the posts of Branch Postmaster, Assistant Branch Postmaster and Dak Sevak in West Bengal Postal Circle. The West Bengal Postal Circle GDS 2020 Online applications will be open from 18th February 2020 and scheduled to be close on 18th March 2020


WEST BENGAL CIRCLE GRAMIN DAK SEVAKS CYCLE – II/2019-2020



  • Name of the Post: Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) - Branch Postmaster (BPM), Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM) and Dak Sevak
  • NO OF VACANCIES: 2021

  • Age Limit: Minimum - 18 Years; Maximum - 40 Years as on 18th February 2020. The Upper age relaxation - 03 Years for OBC Category, 05 Years for SC / ST and 10 Years for PWD / PH Category Candidates.
  • Pay Scale: The Pay Scales differ to Job Location. ₹ 10000 per month or ₹ 12000/- per month.


  • Minimum Educational Qualification:


(1) Candidates should pass 10th Standard (Matriculation / X Std) from State / Central Government Board. If Candidates have higher qualifications, there is no weightage given for High Qualification.

(2) Computer Knowledge: The candidate should have Basic Knowledge of Computer. Computer knowledge determines from candidates holding Basic Computer Knowledge Certificate from Govt. Recognized Institute or 10+2 with Computer Subject or Higher Qualification in Computer Subject.(3) Compulsory knowledge of Local Language (Hindi, Gujarati, Telugu, Assamese, Bengali, Urdu, Malayalam, Konkani, Marathi, Odia, Mizo, Tamil, Nepali, Punjabi, Manipuri).Residence: The GDS BMP Post Selected Candidates must mandatorily take up his/her residence in the Branch Post Office village within 01 Month after selection. The candidate selected for the post of other than GDS BPM should reside in post village/ delivery jurisdiction.


  • Furnishing of Security :  The candidate applying for the post shall note that he/she shall furnish a security amount of ₹ 25,000/- in the event of his/her engagement for the post of BPM and ₹ 10,000/- for other categories. The security shall be in the form of Fidelity Guarantee bond or National Savings Certificate pledged to the Department of Posts in the name of the President of India.


  • Selection Process: No Written Test and Interview. The Selection will be made only through an automatic generated merit list as per the rules based on the candidate's online submitted applications. The selection only based on 10th Class Marks, No weightage given for High Educational Qualification.


  • Application Fee: ₹ 100/- for General (OC) Male and OBC Male Category Candidates Only. The fee should be made at any Head Post Office. This fee is exempted for All Women (include OC / OBC Category) and SC / ST Category Candidates.


  • How to Apply: Eligible Candidates are required to fill Online Application through India Post / AP Post GDS Online Portal from 18th February 2020. The last date for registration of online applications is 18/03/2020.
